ANNE GRAY

Anne Gray was born in the Cape Province, in Bredasdorp, which was at that time the southernmost town on the African continent. Anne has had an interest in birds for many years, and has birded all over South Africa as well as in Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Mozambique, Swaziland and Lesotho. She has been on birding trips to Israel, Ethiopia, the Indian Ocean Islands, Aldabra, Seychelles, Jordan, Egypt, Europe, United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Finland, Greece, North America, Canada and Hawaii.

Anne has a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany and Entomology from Rhodes University. She is a Committee member of the Cape Bird Club, and organises the monthly birding outings and weekend camps.

In 1997 Anne organised two pelagic trips for the Tygerbird Bird Club. Purely as a hobby, further regular trips were organised. As birders became aware of the spectacular pelagic birding available west of Cape Point, demand for Anne's trips increased dramatically. Two trips a month now go out, with occasional midweek trips being organised for groups of birders.
