THE GUIDES

All our guides are highly experienced seabirders, many of whom have experience from the sub-Antarctic islands. Several of our guides are also professional ornithologists and authors of books on seabirds and birding. All are also 'people persons' and have a good knowledge of cetaceans as well as birds. The guides have contributed in large measure to the popularity of our seabird-watching trips.

Some of our regular guides include:

Peter Ryan - Seabird researcher at the Percy Fitzpatrick Institute of African Ornithology, highly experienced birder and co-author of a new field guide to the birds of the Afrotropics.

Ian Sinclair - Needs no introduction! Legendary African birder and prolific author of field guides.

Yellow-nosed Albatross

Barrie Rose - One of South Africa's most experienced seabirders.

Barry Watkins - Highly experienced Southern Ocean seabirder with many trips to the sub-Antarctic islands to his name.

Phil Hockey - Top birder, professor at Cape Town's Percy Fitzpatrick Institute of African Ornithology, and author of numerous birding books.

Alvin Cope - A veteran Cape Town sport fisherman, also hooked on birds!

Phil Whittington - A doctoral penguin researcher with a meticulous eye for seabirding.
