Mobile : 083-311 1140

Duration of trip: 07:00 to approx. 15:30

Departure

Our boat, Zest II, leaves from the town pier at the Simonstown waterfront at 07:00. Parking is available at the pier. The pier is at the end of Wharf Street : turn left off the Main Road through Simonstown opposite the Standard Bank, on the Cape Town side of Jubilee Square.

Clothing

The weather can be wet and windy, chilly or sunny. You need to bring sunblock and a hat and some warm clothing. A waterproof jacket (PVC or yachting type) is recommended in case of wind and spray. There is adequate room in an aft cabin for a tog bag with spare clothes. There will be photo opportunities en route, so don't forget your camera.

Food and Drink

Sandwiches and soft drinks are supplied at midday when we reach the trawlers, but it is recommended that you bring some liquid and something to eat for the early morning as it is a long trip.

Trip Leaders

Our trip leaders are pelagic bird experts who will spot and identify birds (as well as dolphins and whales encountered on the trip). The leaders wil be introduced to you on departure. Please feel free to ask them about any identification problem you may have.

Seasickness

If you're concerned about seasickness, it is probably best to take an anti-seasickness medication before setting off. "Stugeron" is quite effective, particularly if one tablet is taken before bedtime, followed by a tablet (or half a tablet) after an early breakfast before the trip.

Indemnity

You will be requested to sign an indemnity form before boarding.

For any other queries, please contact Anne Gray on 083-311 1140.
